Liturgical Events 2021

The Church of the Advent is a caring Christian Community dedicated to serving the needs of all.

Sunday worship is at 9:30 a.m. followed by Fellowship time and a study of a Saint for the Day.

Blessing of the Animals - October 3rd at 9:30am

October 31 : Morning Prayer & Holy Eucharist. Food donations collected for the local food shelves.

November 7 : Holy Eucharist. All Saints and All Souls Day. Study of three Saints named Therese or Teresa following the Fellowship hour.

November 14 : Holy Eucharist. The Rev. Susan Daughtry, Missioner from ECMN will be our guest Presider and Preacher. The Rev. Daughtry will conduct a question-and answer session during the Fellowship hour.


November 21 : Morning Prayer & Holy Eucharist. Feast of Christ the King.

November 24 : Thanksgiving Eve Ecumenical Service sponsored by the Farmington Ministerial Association at Lord of Life Lutheran Church, 16200 Dodd Lane, Lakeville, at 7:00 p.m.

November 28 : Holy Eucharist. First Sunday of Advent. The first purple Advent candle represents Hope and Faith. The Feast Day of St. Andrew is the topic of study at the Fellowship hour. His feast day is November 30.


December 5 : Holy Eucharist. Second Sunday of Advent. The second purple candle on the Advent Wreath represents Peace. Saint Nicholas of Myra whose feast day is Dec. 6 will be our study topic for the day.  In addition, we will look at the life of Good Saint Wenceslas, Duke of Bohemia.

December 12 : Holy Eucharist. Third Sunday of Advent .. Rose Sunday. The pink candle on the Advent Wreath represents Love. The study will be on Saint Rose, known for her love of the people of Lima, Peru.


December 19 : Holy Eucharist, Fourth Sunday of Advent, proceeded by Lessons and Carols, starting at 2pm.  Exceptionally there will be no Morning Prayer this Sunday.  The fourth purple candle on the Advent Wreath represents Joy.

December 24 : Christmas Eve Holy Eucharist and Caroling. Carol singing will begin at 5:30 pm & the Holy Eucharist will begin at 6:00.
