Liturgical Events 2021
The Sunday worship services are generally held at 9:30 a.m. each Sunday in either the historical chapel or in the larger portion of the building. On rare occasions we also have gathered on the Labyrinth Path outside of the church building for the entire worship service or a particular event, such as Blessing of the Animals or the dedication of bricks dedicated and placed in the labyrinth path area. All are welcome at all services.
The 1982 Book of Common Prayer and the 1982 Hymnal are the two books used on a regular basis during our worship times. But we also use the more recently published worship books on occasion, such as the Supplemental Liturgical Materials, the Enriching Our Worship booklets., and liturgical materials from the New Zealand Prayer Book. The musical portion of the worship service has additional sources, such as the Wonder, Love, and Praise book.
Before we needed to be more restricted in the use of the communion elements, communion was given at each worship service using the words, “All Believers are welcomed to the Communion Table.”
On the 3rd and 5th Sundays of the month, we also conduct a service of Compline or Evening Prayer at 7:00 p.m. This shorter service also allows us time to do a weekly ‘check in’ to see if there are any special needs from the parish members and any prayer requests.
We welcome visitors to our church services and be would be delighted to have you join us in these times of prayer and fellowship.
The Rev. Elaine Clyborne Barber,
Liturgical Worship Leader and Pastoral Care Giver for the Episcopal Church of the Advent, Farmington, Minnesota.
